how to get people to comment?

I think getting visitors to comment is one of the key goals of any blog and even with my 100 unique hits a day noone seems to care to comment or about the blog I really dont know what is wrong, with the blog, or is it to early to waive the white flag?

the best way to get comments is to ask for them.

i ask for comments and feedback on other places than my own blog too, i ask in the entrecard forums, i ask on dp, i ask people i share my articles with, etc.

I found that comments started coming naturally after my blog started getting about 100 uniques a day.

I find some rope and a evil look helps.

I just noticed an increase in comments when I moved over to the Wordpress blogging platform, however it means more spam comments to, but I now get at least one legitimate comment a day, if not more, depending on how interactive and intriguing my article is for that day.

Make it easy for them to comment, leave a open ended question at the end or bribe them.
